The attached report, published by the BoatUS Foundation, is based on testing done last month in San Francisco.  This is the best, most comprehensive write-up on the subject of crew overboard recovery I have ever seen.  All boaters should read it thoroughly!  I was stunned by this statistic: 200 people lost their lives due to COB incidents in 2004.  Note that one such incident happened this past spring right off Des Moines.
